Nigeria’s FCMB Announces Virtual Pitch Competition for Agrictech Startups

In brief:

  • FCMB, in partnership with Passionate Incubator, launches virtual pitch competition.
  • The competition is open to agritech startups and entrepreneurs.
  • Deadline is July 24, 2020.

Nigeria’s First City Monument Bank (FCMB), in partnership with Passion Incubator, is organising a pitch competition for agric startups  and entrepreneurs with the theme: “Redefining and repositioning agricultural value chains during and post the COVID-19 era” 

The FCMB Agritech EPIC Pitch 2020, plans to support two startups with a ₦1.5M grant, whilst providing mentorship, workspace, market growth and development, amongst other benefits. 

According to the bank, the competition is part of its plans to provide an early development opportunity to agritech businesses and entrepreneurs, through the provision of the requisite resources which will help them experience considerable growth. 

Given the current pandemic, this year’s program will be a virtual engagement.

The FCMB Agritech EPIC Pitch 2020, is looking out for businesses which provide solutions in the following agricultural value chains: Processing/Production/Storage, Agricultural Finance and Agricultural Marketing, amongst others. 

Applications are open to interested agritech startups and entrepreneurs, until July 24, 2020.
